The Dynamic Island serves as a clear distinction between new and older models among the eight currently-selling iPhones in the Apple store. iPhone SE is and will be the most affordable model in this roster. So, this rumour that the upcoming SE model will have a Dynamic Island is interesting and somewhat surprising. Here’s what it says:

The rumour comes from tipster @MajinBuOfficial on X along with mockups by @upintheozone. The tipster claims he heard from a source that the forthcoming iPhone SE will share the design cues with the iPhone 16.
He says the dimensions will be similar to the iPhone XR but the Dynamic Island and the rear camera design will resemble an iPhone 16. While the latter will have two cameras, the SE will have one camera lens, he adds. The same is shown on the mockup.
If the bottom-rung iPhone SE gets a Dynamic Island, then that could mean the entire lineup looks the same, thus blurring the distinction we talked about in the beginning. It is hard to believe Apple would want that.
Well, MajinBuOfficial does say in his post that this is just a rumour and too early to say anything for certain. In any case, here’s everything else we know:

- The new iPhone SE is believed to come in 2025, though some rumours even say 2024.
- It could feature an all-display design with flatedges like the newer iPhones. Apple has reportedly shut down the Touch ID division and so, the new SE could sport Face ID. Perhaps the aforementioned Dynamic Island could house it. However, earlier rumours suggest an iPhone 14-like notched fascia. The screen size could be 6.1 inches and the display type could be OLED.
- The solo rear camera pill could house a 48MP sensor(that’s found on the iPhone 15).
- Under the hood, it could have an A17 SoC(that is expected to power the iPhone 16) and a 3279 mAh battery (that’s present inside the iPhone 14).
- Rest, it could have a USB-Cport and an Action Button.
So it seems like a major upgrade over the current-gen iPhone SE but take these rumoured details with a pinch of salt.
