CES 2024: Infinix unveils colour-changing tech for smartphones that doesn’t consume battery

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Infinix has unveiled E-colour shift technology at the CES 2024 show.
  • This will enable mobile phone panels to change and maintain vibrant colours without consuming battery power.
  • The company also highlighted the AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery concept devices.

At the CES 2024, Infinix has unveiled its latest breakthrough E-colour shift technology. This will enable mobile phone panels to change and maintain vibrant colours without consuming battery power. The company also highlighted the AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery concept devices aimed at revolutionising the mobile industry.

Infinix E-colour shift technology

  • Infinix’s E-Color Shift technology features E Ink Prism 3.
  • This will enable users to easily customise their smartphones without it taking a toll on the smartphone’s battery.
  • This technology uses microstructures in which colour particles carry positive and negative charges.
  • By applying different voltages, the electric field within the microstructure changes, causing the corresponding colour particles to move and display the desired colours.
  • Infinix says that this innovative approach allows the phone’s shell to change ‘skins’ at will, thereby maintaining the display without consuming power.

Infinix AirCharge

Infinix also showed off AirCharge and the Extreme-Temp Battery at the event. AirCharge uses innovative multi-coil magnetic resonance and adaptive algorithms to allow wireless charging up to 20cm and at 60-degree angles. The technology ensures safety with frequencies below 6.78MHz and delivers 7.5W power. “This method transcends traditional charging, allowing users to conveniently charge devices under desks during activities like gaming or watching videos,” says Infinix.

Infinix Extreme-Temp Battery

Furthermore, in partnership with top tech suppliers, Infinix is working on tackling the problem of mobile phone battery failure during extreme cold by introducing the extreme-temp battery. This battery incorporates biomimetic electrolyte and fusion solid-state technology in its electrodes and operates seamlessly even in temperatures as low as -40°C.

With a charging capability spanning from -40°C to 60°C, the Extreme-Temp Battery ensures dependable performance and endurance in chilly environments. This will allow to overcome the common issue of lithium-ion freezing in standard batteries.
