iQOO Z8’s Google Play Console listing hints at its imminent global launch

After its debut in China a few weeks back, iQOO Z8 seems to be on its way to the global market. The device has been spotted on the Google Play Consolt. Since the Chinese version doesn’t have Google Mobile Services, the appearance of the iQOO phone on Google Play Console means a global edition is in the making. This console is where Android devices are tested for app compatibility before they are deemed ready for launch.

iQOO Z8 specifications (expected)

iQOO Z8’s listing on the Google Play Console confirms some of its expected specs. The model number of the device in question is PD2314. The model number starting with PD is generally used by iQOO for the Chinese market. So, it can’t be said for sure if this indeed is a model meant for the global market.

• Display: It is shown in the listing that iQOO Z8 has a 1080×2388 resolution and 480 PPI pixel density. The Chineseversion stretches 6.64 inches diagonally, is of an IPS LCD nature, and has a 120Hz refresh rate.
• Software:The listing shows Android 13 as the software the device has at the time of testing. The Chinese model was released with Android 13-based OriginOS 13 skin. However, for the outside market, the custom skin could be FuntouchOS.
• Processor: iQOO Z8’s listing reveals it’s a MediaTek chip with a Cortex A78 prime core (3.1GHz), 3x Cortex A78 performance cores (at 3.0 GHz), 4x Cortex A55 efficiency cores (at 2.0GHz). This would be the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC.
• Memory: The tested device has 12GB of RAM. The Chinese variant also has an 8GB variant and the storage could be 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
• Camera: iQOO Z8 could consist of a 64MP main camera with OIS and a 2MP depth sensing module. The selfie snapper could be a 16MP sensor.
• Battery: Inside the iQOO Z8, there could be a 5,000mAh battery coupled with a 120W charging speed.
• Miscellaneous: Other features in the mix could include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

iQOO Z8 pricing (expected)

iQOO Z8 price in China started at RMB 1,699 (roughly Rs 19,300) and in India, it could launch at about Rs 21,000. But since the iQOO Z7 Pro launched only recently in the country, the iQOO Z8 (which could fall at a similar price range) launch is expected a little later.
