iQOO 10 Pro launched in 2022 in China was the first flagship to come with 200W fast charging technology. The successor also came with 200W fast charging. Now, there are reports that the upcoming iQOO 12 Pro will feature reduced fast charging capabilities at 120W speed. While this is still fast, not as fast as 200W. The recent leak suggests that Vivo and iQOO might not go with 200W fast charging, instead will focus on increasing battery capacities.

Vivo drops 200W fast charging: tipster

• According to DigitalChatStation, Vivo has reportedly decided to hold the 200W fast charging solution.
• Instead, the company is reportedly planning on introducing a 120W/100W fast-charging solution and a 6,000mAh battery.
• The tipster says that the brand will be incorporating a specialised high-density battery.
• Recent reports have revealed the battery size and charging capabilities of the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. This suggests the new leak does not apply to the iQOO 12 series but to forthcoming Vivo or iQOO models.

Rumours have it that the iQOO 12 will house a 5,000mAh battery, while the 12 Pro could pack a 5,100mAh battery capacity. Both models are expected to feature 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging on the Pro version.

iQOO 12 series specifications

• Display:6.78-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The Pro version might have a Samsung E7 AMOLED display and the same 144Hz refresh rate.
• Processor: The flagships could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. But we can’t confirm the same at the moment.
• RAM/Storage: The iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro might pack up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
• OS: Android 14 with Origin OS 4.0 custom skin out of the box.
• Cameras: The iQOO 12 series could come with a 50MP OV50H primary sensor with OIS, a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto sensorwith 3x zoom and OIS, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle sensor. For selfies, there could be a 16MP shooter on the front.
• Others: The phones might feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, and possibly an IP rating.
