OnePlus Nord CE receives its final update with Oxygen OS 13: changelog, new features

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched the company’s affordable Nord series with the launch of OnePlus Nord CE in 2021. The smartphone was launched with Android 11 out of the box, under Oxygen OS 11. However, the smartphone is now receiving its final software upgrade. According to the company’s community forum, the smartphone maker has started rolling out Android 13 for its OnePlus Nord CE as its staple Oxygen OS 13 for global units.

However, the new firmware version EB2103_11_F.0 includes a plethora of changes and enhancements that make it possible for the smartphone to maintain its optimal level of performance over the final year, for which it will get security upgrades. The update adds a new toolbox to the sidebar, letting users open an app in a window that floats over another. It also has many features for security, privacy, and getting work done. In 2021, when it first came out, OnePlus Nord CE had Android 11 OS. Here’s the changelog.

The new update added an Aquamorphic Design theme colours that will enhance visual comfort. It also brought a Home screen world clock widget that shows different time zones as per the location and a Shadow-Reflective Clock.

The new update lets users Add large folders to the Home screen. They can now open an app in an enlarged folder with just a single click and turn pages in the folder by swiping.

New media playback control has been added along with markup tools for screenshot editing. Most significantly, customers will be able to take advantage of features such as improved encryption for anything stored in their Private Safe. You can read and check out the complete changelog here.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G specifications

OnePlus Nord CE 5G was launched at a starting price of Rs 22,999 for the 6GB+128GB storage variant. It flaunts a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and sports a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP main lens. A 16MP selfie sensor is equipped on the front panel.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which cannot be expanded further. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with support of 30W Warp Charge 30T Plus fast-charging.

The company is now gearing to unveil the OnePlus Nord CE 3, likely in July. It is expected to offer an FHD+ AMOLED display, support of 80W fast charging, and up to 256GB of internal storage.
