Should you buy the Redmi Note 12 4G?
The Redmi Note 12 4G at Rs 10,499 has a lot going on for it. You get an FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This will offer a crisp and immersive visual experience while gaming or consuming content. The 120Hz refresh rate should offer smooth animations and transitions.
There is a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 primary camera and this should click decent images in good daylight and during ample light conditions. The 16MP shooter on the front should be able to click sharp selfies. There is a large 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The phone should last an entire day with moderate usage and when you run out of battery, the 33W adapter should juice it up in no time.
While all these sound good, the lack of 5G support is a disappointment given how the quick adoption of the latest network has been across the country. For the same Rs 10,499, you get various other 5G phones like the POCO M6 5G, POCO M6 Pro 5G, and others. However, with those, there are certain downgrades like an IPS panel, moderate optics, and slower charging speeds.
The answer is clear, if you want a well-rounded phone, the Redmi Note 12 4G is a decent offering. You can get an AMOLED display, better cameras, a large battery and fast charging speeds. But if 5G is your requirement, you have better options, especially with Redmi Note 13 5G’s launch around the corner.
