ASUS ROG Phone 8 series has been launched globally and is a successor to the ROG Phone 7 lineup. The lineup includes the standard ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition. The design hasn’t changed much but the internals have seen sizeable upgrades this time. We get the same 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, up to 165Hz refresh rate, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

ASUS ROG 8 series price, sale

  • The ASUS ROG Phone 8 is priced at $1,099.99(approx Rs 91,400) for the 16GB + 256GB model,
  • The ASUS Phone 8 Pro costs $1,199.99(around Rs 99,700) for the 16GB + 512GB version.
  • The ROG Phone Pro edition costs $1,499.99(approx Rs 124,610) for the 24GB + 1TB model.
  • The AeroActive Cooler X costs $99.99(around Rs 8,400).

The phones will start rolling out in the spring of 2024. The standard ROG Phone 8 comes in Rebel Grey and Phantom Black colours. While the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition & Pro comes in just Phantom Black colour.

  • Cameras: There is a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, 6-axis Gimbal stabilization, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP 3x telephoto sensor with OIS.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 features

  • The ASUS ROG Phone 8 features a rapid-cooling conductor design.
  • There is an all-new AeroActive Cooler X clip-on cooler, which is now 29 percent smaller and promises 1.2x higher thermal efficiency. This reduces the back cover temperature by as much as 26°C.
  • Gamers can effortlessly shift a game to the background with Background Mode or capture key moments with X Capture.
  • The Al Grabber feature can now also grab text directly from games using Machine-Learning Recognition technology.
  • The X Capture and X Sense 2.0 now support more new top games.
  • The ROG Phone 8 series comes with the Aura RGB Lightning logo the ROG Phone 8 and Anime Vision Mini-LED 341-element display, which can display preset or user-created animations.
  • Customers can also unlock secret animations by touching their phone back-to-back with another ROG Phone 8 Pro/Pro Edition.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 upgrades

  • Talking about upgrades, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 is the first in the lineup to come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
  • The new series also comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the ROG Phone 7.
  • The cameras have also seen decent upgrades this year. We get a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor compared to a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor.
  • There is a new 32MP 3x telephoto sensor in place of a 5MP macro sensor.
  • However, the battery size has been downgraded from a 6,000mAh cell to a 5,000mAh unit.
