Realme India has announced that it is starting early access rollout of Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 for Realme GT Neo 3 and Neo 3 150W. The company claims the new version of custom skin will bring significant optimisations in privacy, performance, and design. “The realme UI 5.0 Early Access will bring a natural, gentle, and clearer colour style for a more comfortable colour experience,” says Realme.
Realme UI 5.0 early access details
- Realme is starting the Realme UI 5.0 early access with the Realme GT Neo 3 and GT Neo 3 150W.
- Realme says that customers will be able to experience new ringtones and smoother system animations with the Realme UI 5.0 early access.
- The Realme UI 5.0 is claimed to improve system stability, launch speed of apps and smoother animations. This will also improve the cloud photo service by Google Photos.
- This Android 14-based skin is promised to improve battery life, enhance PIN privacy, and more.
- There will be additional steps for privacy like photo and video-related permission management, security-related changes and accessibility features.
- The update also introduces APIs for developers like per-app language preferences, Grammatical Inflection API, Regional preferences, and more.
Realme is adding more apps that support the APP Cloner function while expanding the list of APP Cloner. The media output is now set in Control Center for the long term. While introducing new ringtones, the update also revamps the system notification sounds.
Realme notes that there are some known issues such as the Glance lock-screen is not available in the Realme UI 5.0 early access but will be available in the following versions. The floating window feature may not work properly. Realme warns users the early access build might not be suitable for daily use.
The applications for early access will be accepted in batches and only limited seats are available. Realme says phones should not be rooted and backup personal data. To install the early access, users need to ensure at least 15GB of storage is available. Some third-party applications might not be compatible with the Realme UI 5.0 early access.
