Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Honor Magic 6 will let you operate apps with your eyes

Qualcomm announced the mighty Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC at the annual summit a couple of days ago. Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, iQOO 12, OnePlus 12, ASUS ROG, and others have already confirmed phones with the new chipset. Now, Honor is the latest OEM to reveal that Magic 6 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm SoC. Honor Magic 6’s launch date is yet to be revealed. The brand has also revealed the new AI-powered features that will debut with the smartphone, including one which lets you operate apps with your eyes.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the brand’s new flagship chipset for Android phones.
- The chipset will offer performance and power efficiency improvements over the predecessor.
- The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers on-device AI capabilities. There is support for a chatbot trainer with Meta’s Llama 2 which can perform tasks based on text, image and voice inputs.
- There is also support for generative AI.
Honor Magic 6 features
Besides being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Honor Magic 6 will come with on-device AI capabilities. There is a new virtual personal assistant called YOYO and this will be able to answer questions and do various tasks. Users will be able to use it to create video clips with photos and videos from the gallery. They will only need to give a voice command detailing what kind of media files to add.
Magic Capsule
Honor Magic 6 features a new Magic Capsule and this looks similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island live activities. There is added support for eye-tracking which allows users to interact using their eyes. During the presentation, Honor showed an eye-tracking feature to open Uber.
Honor hasn’t mentioned when the Honor Magic 6 will launch but the current Magic 5 debuted in February. We should know more details very soon.
